For appointment to this level, a candidate must have: - (i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) for Drivers or its equivalent qualifications from a recognised and accredited institution; (ii) A valid driving license category D3 free from any current endorsements; (iii) Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognised and accredited institution; (iv) Certificate in Suitability Test for Drivers conducted by the Ministry responsible for transport; (v) A valid Clearance Certificate from the National Police Service; (vi) At least two (2) years driving experience; and (vii) Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve driving vehicles as authorized; Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles assigned to; Cleaning of the assigned motor vehicle; Maintaining a proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle; Ensuring security and safety of passengers and vehicle on and off the road; Adhering to or observing of traffic laws; Reporting any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur; Detect common mechanical faults.
