For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: (i) Bachelor Degree in Dentistry from a recognized institution; (ii) Certificate in teaching methodology course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution; (iii) Been registered with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMPDC); (iv) Valid practicing license; and (v) Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating relevant subjects in their discipline areas; Preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students on matters related to their academics; Inducting new trainers and trainee lecturers; Implementing competence-based curriculum; Conducting research in the area of specialisation and supervising students on research projects; Developing at least three (3) teaching manuals; Developing and reviewing policies, standards, systems and processes relevant to curricula (when deployed as Curriculum Officer); Mentoring and coaching staff on curriculum development; and Conducting basic, applied and action research to address knowledge gaps related to curriculum development.
