For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: (i) Bachelor of Science in Nursing; OR KMTC Higher Diploma in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Nephrology, Peri-Operative Nursing, Theater Nursing, Psychiatry and Mental Health, Pediatric Nursing, Ophthalmic Nursing, Palliative Care, Public Health Nursing, Midwifery, Oncology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Family Health, with practice in the relevant field for a minimum of six (6) years (ii) Been registered with Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK); (iii) Valid practicing license; and (iv) Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; Preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students on matters related to their academics; Supporting the design and development of instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for the evaluation of health teaching materials; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance; Implementing competence-based curriculum; Planning and organising continuing education programmes for health workers; and Conducting research in the area of specialisation and supervising students on research projects.
