For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine; OR KMTC higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology & Venereology, Orthopaedics & Trauma Medicine, Anaesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, Chest Medicine Paediatrics, ENT Head and Neck Surgery, Audiology & Hearing Care Technology, Speech and Language Pathology, Nephrology, Oncology and Palliative Care, Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery, Ophthalmology, Low Vision and Refraction, Reproductive Health, Family Health and Mental Health and Psychiatry and practiced in their relevant field for a minimum period of six (6) years; (ii) Been registered with the Clinical Officers Council (COC); (iii) Valid practicing license; and (iv) Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; Preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students on matters related to their academics; Supporting the design and development of instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for the evaluation of health teaching materials; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance; Implementing competence-based curriculum; Planning and organising continuing education programmes for health workers; and Conducting research in the area of specialisation and supervising students on research projects.
